U10 Rainbows
The game between Rainbows and Piccolos was played in a terrific spirit with the SWQ Development Officer coaching and nurturing the Piccolos and the All Stars Rainbows being such a talented group of girls. The skill level showed by the Rainbows was amazing.
Savannah drew and passed the ball a number of times to a flying Taleah to score 4 touchdowns for the game. Bridie played well, running hard when she had the opportunity. Ashleigh defended extremely well, as did the rest of the team.
The girls are understanding the value of ‘rucking’ and making some good ground in the first three touches. The girls should be very proud of their efforts!
U10 Sharks
The U10 Sharks had another strong performance in a tough game against Redbacks. Luke was a handful for the defence scoring a couple of tries. Riley & Adam also played well with good passing skills. Great effort this season boys.
U12 Barramundis
The boys had a great game on Friday night. They dominated their opposition, with only 7 players. They defended well and worked together to get the win.
U12 Sharks
In boys U12 Sharks played the Barramundis in a top of the table clash. In a close game the Barras got revenge from round 1. For the Sharks, Kai had a great game in the middle supported by Dougal & Joe. Out wide, Mitchell & Eaton showed plenty of speed and skill.
U14 Wasps
The Wasps played Highfields for the first time. They tried hard, but unfortunately went down. We know what we need to do next time to get the win.
U14 Spinners
Spinners took on equally placed Highfields on Friday night. The team rucked well, led through the middle Jacquie, Beth, Georgia and Sasha, putting the girls in a great position to attack. Monica was creative on the line and was well supported by our quickies Catherine and Lauren. Ella, Hannah and Lara were outstanding in defence.
U14 Stingers
Stingers had an awesome game against second on the table Tigers on Friday night, going down 7-4. The boys showed they we capable of some awesome slide defence, which proved to be frustrating for their opposition. Kynan, Nick T and John had great defensive games, and supported James, Max and Nick with some hard rucking. Carter and Sam played with their usual attacking flair, setting up some great plays!
U14 Surfers
The girls held themselves well on the field and generated two scoring opportunities in the first half, through good line breaks. They continued to play really well in the second period of the game, taking the play straight to the line and controlled the ball well. Their defence was excellent throughout the game, holding the opposition at bay for the most part. A great effort by the Surfers!
U14 Sharks
In the U14’s, the Sharks had a narrow loss to Lions after leading at half time. Finn & Seb played strongly in the middle while speed machine Riley improves with every game. With three playmakers to come back, the boys should continue to improve into next year.
