All Stars Weekly Wrap-up – 11 and 13 November 2015

U10 Hammerheads

Enwise Electrical and RefigerationThis is our first year in U10s and we have started to do a transition in learning the positions in the game. Our opposition was very strong on Friday however our boys stayed very strong and kept to our game plane of rucking the ball and staying wide in our positions. Well done boys, you are doing a great job and the commitment and dedication you are displaying is a credit to you all.

U12 Sharks

Crackerjack Chicken

The Sharks had no subs this week and had to dig deep for a very impressive display of attacking touch.  All boys rotated through positions which is very beneficial for their development.  Luke proved a real handful for our opponents with his speed and step while Riley and Adam had impressive games.  Unfortunately the coach challenged his team that if they kept a clean sheet he would wear his embarrassing Shark hat for the entire game next week.  As the coach lost that bet he is hoping the game is on field 7 away from everyone.

U12 Angels

newsXpress on westThe Angels only had one sub this week and faced a Saints side who are with us in the top four.  The girls were challenged early but improved throughout the game to record a solid win.  The girls are showing some great confidence and are executing our moves and set plays to a high standard.  The teamwork on display is also improving each week.  Courtney, Savannah, Izzy and Lucy caused problems for defenders with their pace out wide while Demi and Molly created chances in the middle all game.  Tessa was unlucky not to score several tries and played really well.

U12 Vipers

What a great game against the All Stars Stingrays! Both teams played very well. I would like to thank the two young u10 boys that filled in for us, Eli and Taylor you both had great games. Our u12s boys are improving each week and are working really hard at training keep up the good work. The Vipers were well led by Angus, Jake, Lachie, Wes.

U16 Boys

All StarsThe 16s continued with their great form defeating the older Cobar team by one try.  In the first half the team played some really great touch to lead easily at the break.  Our opponents fought back in the second half but Brad came up with a great effort to score late and win the game.  The margin should have been greater as our boys blew a number of tries but this will improve with training.  Special mention this week to Jacob and Luke who had really solid games and Finn who was always dangerous in attack.

U16 Girls

All StarsOn Tuesday we were fortunate enough to have Cambo attend our training to run us through some drills.  We concentrated on compression across the park in defence, switch move and dummy half running.  It was a great session and we all came away having learnt something.  Wednesday saw us taking the Field with almost a full compliment of players, finally playing consecutive games in a row!  Intent was to bring some of what we practiced on Tuesday into our game.  The 1st half saw an even affair with sensational rucking from our middles and links and solid defence from our wingers.  A couple of times, our handling let us down on the 1st tackle which we spoke about at half time.  The second half saw the compressed defence really come into its own and our ball handling improved out of sight.  Awesome effort from everyone across the park.  It was fantastic to see Mackenzie there to watch the girls play.  Unfortunately, due to injury and other commitments, Mackenzie will not be able to play with us this season but having her there to cheer us on from the sidelines really exemplifies her team spirit.
